About Us

Put Children First is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to safeguarding the emotional and psychological well-being of children impacted by parental separation and divorce. The organization supports equal shared parenting, cooperative co-parenting, and research-based advocacy to ensure that children maintain meaningful and healthy relationships with both parents whenever it is safe and appropriate. Through education, outreach, and strategic partnerships, the organization creates initiatives that empower families and promote child centered solutions.

The organization operates through a collaborative leadership model involving directors, board members, and volunteers who work together to provide programs, research, and community support. This leadership structure ensures a strong foundation for developing initiatives that support mental health, academic success, and emotional stability for children. Position Summary

The Director, Finance provides strategic financial leadership that supports the long-term sustainability of Put Children First. Working closely with the Treasurer and Board of Directors, this role helps ensure that the organization’s financial practices reflect transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing annual operating budgets.
• Review financial reports and forecasts.
• Support financial planning and long-term sustainability.
• Ensure sound financial controls and accountability.
• Assist with grant budgeting and funding proposals.
• Collaborate with the Treasurer regarding reporting requirements.
• Support financial policy development.

Qualifications

• Professional background in accounting, finance, banking, or financial management.
• CPA designation is considered an asset but is not required.
• Experience with nonprofit financial management is desirable.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Commitment to transparency and ethical financial practices.
