About Us

Put Children First is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to safeguarding the emotional and psychological well-being of children impacted by parental separation and divorce. The organization supports equal shared parenting, cooperative co-parenting, and research-based advocacy to ensure that children maintain meaningful and healthy relationships with both parents whenever it is safe and appropriate. Through education, outreach, and strategic partnerships, the organization creates initiatives that empower families and promote child centered solutions.

The organization operates through a collaborative leadership model involving directors, board members, and volunteers who work together to provide programs, research, and community support. This leadership structure ensures a strong foundation for developing initiatives that support mental health, academic success, and emotional stability for children. Through ongoing partnerships and public engagement, the organization is committed to creating environments where children thrive.

Status: Unpaid Volunteer

Commitment: Approximately 10-12 hours per month

Term: 2 years

Position Summary

The Director of Operations for Quebec leads the organization’s activities throughout the province while helping establish meaningful partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and government stakeholders.

This role supports the organization’s commitment to serving Canada’s diverse communities by encouraging collaboration, inclusion, and culturally responsive engagement.

As Quebec Director of Operations, you will help expand the organization’s provincial presence while building relationships that reflect the unique strengths and diversity of Quebec communities. Working alongside volunteers and community leaders, you will help ensure that the organization’s mission reaches families across the province.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate provincial operations.
  • Recruit and support regional volunteers.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations.
  • Represent Put Children First throughout Quebec.
  • Support educational programming and outreach.
  • Assist with provincial fundraising initiatives.
  • Report activities to national leadership.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience within nonprofit, education, healthcare, government, or community organizations.
  • Bilingual (French and English) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Passion for supporting children and families.
