Board Member

Dr. Tanya d’Anger (Phd) is an English professor at Humber Polytechnic (Etobicoke, Ontario), where she has taught English, Communications, and Critical Thinking courses since 2002. She is an alumna of Massey College, University of Toronto, where she currently serves as VP for the Massey College Alumni Association (MCAA). In the past, she also served as President and Board Member for Superfriends Daycare, associated with Huron St. Junior Public School (Toronto); and as President and Board Member for Nancy’s Part-Time Child Care Centre (University of Toronto).

Tanya’s past involvement with her children’s daycares and her own experience of divorce have given her valuable insight into the importance of balancing the needs of children with parental rights. She is passionate about ensuring that children experiencing divorce and separation are effectively supported by both the legal system and their families. She strongly advocates for the continuing involvement of both parents in their children’s lives, but is aware that this is not always in the children’s best interests. She strongly believes in prioritizing the needs of children to ensure their safety and well-being so they can develop into healthy, happy adults.

Before settling in Canada as a young adult, Tanya travelled widely and lived in several different countries. This gave her insight into the cultural differences that influence parents in their approach to parenting. She is sensitive to the importance of respecting these differing viewpoints, particularly within a multi-cultural society such as Canada’s. She brings integrity and commitment to her role as a Board Member with Put Children First and is dedicated to continuing to advocate for informed public decision making.
