José Aggrey is a retired Canadian public servant with nearly three decades of experience in the Federal Government of Canada, where he served as an economist across multiple departments. His professional expertise spans strategic planning, business planning, financial management, and organizational visioning, with a career dedicated to strengthening public institutions and advancing excellence in public service.

José has held numerous senior leadership roles, including President of the Canadian Association of Professional Employees, one of Canada’s largest federal bargaining agents, and Vice President for five years prior. He was also appointed by the Governor in Council to the Public Service Pensions Advisory Committee, advising the President of the Treasury Board on pension governance. His leadership extended to the Canadian Public Sector Quality Association, now known as the Canadian Public Sector Excellence Network, where he served as First Vice President and chaired multiple national committees.

Beyond government, José has been deeply engaged in community leadership, public policy advocacy, and civic participation. He founded New Vision Canada, a nonprofit organization promoting nonpartisan political education and minority engagement and later established the National Council of Ghanaian Canadians to strengthen community representation across Canada. His service has included advisory roles with the City of Ottawa, the National Capital Commission, and numerous cultural and civic initiatives. José brings a lifetime of leadership, integrity, and commitment to public good, grounded in both professional excellence and community service.
