About Us

Put Children First is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to safeguarding the emotional and psychological well-being of children impacted by parental separation and divorce. The organization supports equal shared parenting, cooperative co-parenting, and research-based advocacy to ensure that children maintain meaningful and healthy relationships with both parents whenever it is safe and appropriate. Through education, outreach, and strategic partnerships, the organization creates initiatives that empower families and promote child centered solutions.

The organization operates through a collaborative leadership model involving directors, board members, and volunteers who work together to provide programs, research, and community support. This leadership structure ensures a strong foundation for developing initiatives that support mental health, academic success, and emotional stability for children. Through ongoing partnerships and public engagement, the organization is committed to creating environments where children thrive.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations for Ontario provides strategic leadership for the organization’s activities throughout Canada’s largest province. This role supports the implementation of Put Children First’s mission by building partnerships, coordinating volunteers, supporting regional initiatives, and strengthening relationships with community organizations, professionals, educational institutions, and government stakeholders.

Ontario is home to a diverse population and a broad network of organizations serving children and families. This leadership position plays an important role in ensuring that the organization’s work reflects the unique needs of communities across the province.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Ontario operations.
• Recruit, mentor, and support regional volunteers.
• Develop partnerships with community organizations and institutions.
• Coordinate educational events and community initiatives.
• Represent the organization throughout Ontario.
• Identify opportunities for regional growth and engagement.
• Support fundraising and partnership development.
• Report regional activities to the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in nonprofit, education, healthcare, public service, business, or community development.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience managing projects or teams.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Passion for strengthening families and supporting children’s wellbeing.
